Pic of the Day

Great Egret – Saint Augustine Alligator Farm; St. Augustine, Florida:  I shot this image on the fly (no pun intended) as the bird approached its nest.  I happened to see the bird flying-in and swung my tripod mounted 500mm toward the bird.  I got two shots that were sharp.  I liked the wing position in this one the best.

Pic of the Day

Blue and Gold Macaw – Saint Augustine Alligator Farm: Saint Augustine, Florida:  Back in late April I was in Saint Augustine, Florida photographing nesting egrets and herons at the local alligator farm.   While I was there I took the time to photograph some of the macaws that are used in the local tourist show.  I don’t often photograph captive birds, but this macaw was perched in the perfect location with a great background.  I could not resist taking a few images.
