Pic of the Day


     Black Vulture, Coragyps atratus – Everglades National Park, Florida:  A face that only a mother could love!  If there is one bird that is plentiful on Anhinga Trail in Everglades National Park, it is the black vulture.  They are everywhere, flying, hopping around the ground, perched in trees, on cars (pulling the rubber from around windows and windshields), perched on post---and fearless.
I shot this close-up of a bird perched on a rail in the mist of heavy foot traffic.  Fortunately I was able to get an angle that eliminated the bustling sightseers along the trail.
