Black Skimmer, Rynchops niger, and chick:  Indian Shores, Florida
After two days of driving with a bad back, I finally made it to the beach to photograph some Black Skimmers with chicks.  Most of the chicks were about six weeks old, but I did find a couple of birds with chicks that looked about a week old.  Though the day was quite cloudy I managed to get a couple of shots I was happy with.  If birds nest here next year I will be back when the lot hatches.
By the way, after an hour or more shooting, I forgot all about the pain in my back.  I tell you.....photography is a miracle cure!
