Sandhill Crane, Grus canadensis - Viera Wetlands, Florida

On one of my rounds atop a berm at the Viera Wetlands I came across this sandhill crane probing the ground for roots.  The crane was standing on a neatly mowed grasses area, and it was quite a domestic scene.  So, instead of shooting a long shot, I slowly made my way toward the crane and shot a close-up.   The background was just perfect and it allowed me to isolate the bird against a clean background.
