Pic of the Day

Appalachian Mountain Range from Clingmans Dome – Great Smoky Mountain National Park:  I made a short trip to the Smokeys this week to photograph fall foliage.  However, I was about a week late.  There was not a lot of color, but I did get a few decent landscapes and close-up shots.  This image is a composite of eleven (11) different images stitched together in photoshop.  The finished stitched image from the original files is 10 x 82 inches.
While the sunset was really great, The real show began after the sun had set.  I loved the tonality of the various mountain ridges as they receded into the distance. I could not resist shooting the images to create a composite.  The angle of view is approximately 125+ degrees.  I will post some other images from the dome, and Cades Cover over the next week or so.
